Elaine and Mike are pleased to announce the safe arrival of Brook (photo below)
Our chosen charity, for our Presidential year was The Guide Dogs. We set ourselves a target of £2,500, a figure chosen because it would enable us to name a guide dog.
Thanks to the generosity of Brothers and their families from both Brooklands and other Circles, we smashed that target, raising £2,747.64 which will go towards the cost of training and supporting Brook (named after the Circle) to become a guide dog. As a side note, it costs around £55K to support a guide dog from birth to retirement.
Brook was born on 27th April, one of 6 pups born to Mum Zaza and Dad Morgan. At 12 weeks old, he will be settling in with his Puppy Walker/Raiser and beginning to learn about daily routines, obedience and good behaviour and then at 12-15 months old he will begin his formal guide dog training.
Due to COVID restrictions, we were unable to visit the Guide Dogs to personally hand over the cheque, however, thanks to the wonders of Zoom, we recently hosted a virtual handover with Diane Moore from The Guide Dogs (photo below)
Once again, on behalf of The Guide Dogs, thank you for your wonderful generosity.
