One of the programmes that we broadcast on Brooklands196 is called Reasonably Catholic. It’s a podcast presented by a lady called Maria Johnson.
Maria describes it as “a thoughtful discussion of progressive issues of faith and action, typically featuring interviews, but also offering the occasional book panel and religious news coverage.”
Back in April, when we launched the station, I wrote to Maria and asked her for permission to re-broadcast her show on Brooklands196, which she happily agreed to.
During one of our email conversations, I happened to mention that I’d converted to Catholicism 3 years ago. She immediately wrote back and asked me if I’d like to be on her show. So a few weeks ago, we we had a transatlantic telephone conversation where I told her all about my journey to Christianity.
This week Maria released the episode of her podcast featuring my interview. The podcast is 55 minutes in total. I was her first guest and our chat lasted about 25 minutes.
The rest of the podcast featured someone who “went the other way” – The Rev. Richard DeBiasi grew up Catholic but, compelled by the Jewishness of Jesus, he eventually found his way to becoming a Messianic Jew, a Jew who believes in Jesus. He also is a licensed Christian minister.
